This session will look at the unique experiences and opportunities for rural and remote communities, including how these communities are future-proofing their economies by embracing circularity.

Rural and remote communities must forge a different path to circularity than urban centres. The final Demonstration Session will showcase rural and remote communities from around the world who have future-proofed their economies by embracing circularity. The session will appeal to those seeking to learn how rural and remote communities can benefit from circularity, including policymakers, politicians, planners, economic development officers, business owners and community members.

Organizers: Environment and Climate Change Canada and the Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, in collaboration with African Circular Economy Alliance, Circular Economy Coalition for Latin America and the Caribbean, Circular Economy Leadership Canada and the European Commission.
