Leena-Kaisa Piekkari

Leena-Kaisa Piekkari has over ten years of experience from the environmental sector working with various topics and projects as a consultant and in the public sector in close cooperation with several industries. She has a Master of Business Administration in International Business. During 2018-2019 she was part of Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra’s Circular Economy Team and has worked in Finland’s Ministry of the Environment since 2018. Leena-Kaisa leads the developing and implementation of the Finnish voluntary agreement (green deals) mechanism in the Ministry. She has developed the process and criteria for Finland’s ambitious national deals finding solutions for climate change and enhancing the circular economy in Finland. She has so far been negotiating successfully seven green deals with the targets to among others cut the emissions of Finnish automotive sector, enhance the recycling of plastics at construction sites and decrease chemicals in Finnish kindergarten environment.
